Tree Lighting Ceremony December 7

Hamilton Street in the City of Allentown will be closed from 9th Street to 8th Street on Thursday, December 7 beginning at 3pm for the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at PPL Plaza.

The ceremony is a partnership between the City and the Hamilton District Main Street Program. Festivities include musical performances, dance acts, horse-drawn carriage rides, face painting, hot coco, and appearances by Pip the Mouse, MeLVin, and, of course, Santa Claus.

The event is free event and open to the public.

The Lehigh Valley Marine Corp. Toys for Tots will be in attendance to donate and distribute toys to the children. (Toys are available on a first come, first served basis.)

TREE LIGHTING SCHEDULE OF ENTERTAINMENT:

4:00-4:03 – Welcome Betsy Kohl, Main Street Manager
4:03-4:45 – Musician Dave Fry
4:45 - Santa arrives on fire truck
5:05-5:10 - Tree lighting with Mayor Ed Pawlowski, Santa and WFMZ’s Matt Broderick
5:15-5:45 - Dieruff High School Chorus
5:45-6:15 – William Allen High School Band
6:15-6:30 - YEA! Xcape Dancers
6:30 - Program Ends

The tree lighting is sponsored by the City of Allentown, City Center Allentown, Marine Toys for Tots Foundation and WFMZ-TV 69News.
