Homerun Derby Winner Enjoys WS

The winner of Allentown’s Major League Baseball® Jr. Home Run Derby™ contest made lifetime memories at the 2021 World Series.

Fourteen-year-old Noah Gyauch-Quirk of Bethlehem and his parents were treated by MLB to a three day all-expenses paid trip to Atlanta to compete against seven other regional champions on Monday, November 1.

The competitors stood in the home of the Atlanta Braves Truist Park batter’s box and were given three warm-up pitches before facing 20 pitches that were officially scored. Noah finished in the middle of the pack of the eight qualifiers from around the country.

Each competitor received tickets to Game Four of the World Series along a new bat bag filled with lots of items, like special edition all-star game batting gloves, a long sleeve workout shirt, 2 pairs of shorts, several Jr Homerun Derby shirts, white baseball pants, baseball belt and socks, Jr Homerun Derby Jersey, a gold necklace like what some players wear, World Series shirt and hat, and Tampa and Arizona hats.

The kids also had their pictures taken and received an autographed baseball from retired two-time All-Star and current MLB Network broadcaster Harold Reynolds.

Noah won the local competition in the 14-and-under division on Saturday, June 26 at the William Allen High School Softball Field and added the regional crown on Sunday, September 26 at Lindenwold Park in Lindenwold, NJ to qualify for the trip to the World Series.
