Parking Authority Suspends Meter Enforcement
The Allentown Parking Authority has issued a statement announcing suspension of parking meter enforcement.

Since the Governor’s initial actions in response to COVID-19 concerns, the APA has been reviewing all parking enforcement policies and surveying neighborhoods for parking availability. Based upon a Monday, March 23 survey, it is clear parking meter enforcement is not necessary to maintain orderly parking on public streets, given that many businesses have temporarily closed. Fortunately, the APA worked hard last year to draft a new statute to allow for flexibility in meter enforcement which was passed by City Council. As a result, the APA has decided to suspend all meter enforcement as of 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23 effective thru Sunday, April 12th, unless further ordered. Public safety violations including without limitation, double parking, blocking a hydrant or parking to close to curbs, private lots, etc. will continue to be enforced.
