On Thursday night, Christmas Eve, December 24 and Thursday night, New Year’s Eve December 31, there will be NO trash or recycling collection in the city of Allentown.

There will be NO trash or recycling collection on Thanksgiving night, Thursday, November 26.

The public is invited to celebrate America Recycles Day with the City of Allentown on Saturday, November 14 with family fun activities, arts and crafts, games, prizes and more!

Crews from the city of Allentown Streets Bureau will be collecting leaves into December. Residents are reminded to rake only leaves into the street, a foot from the curb, for pick up by vacuum trucks.

Volunteers from across the city are urged to sign-up now to participate in Mayor Ed Pawlowski’s 9TH Annual Great Allentown Cleanups. Most of the activity will take place on Saturday, April 25 just following Earth Day which is Wednesday, April 22.

The City of Allentown yard waste site at 1401 Oxford Dr. (Oxford Drive and Fish Hatchery Road) is now open for the season for Allentown residents.

The City of Allentown will receive $250,000 in a Recycling Program Development and Implementation Grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP).

There will be no trash or recycling in the City of Allentown on Thanksgiving night, Thursday, November 27. Thursday recyclers can place their recycling bins and yard waste out on Friday night, November 28.

The City of Allentown and Lehigh County will celebrate America Recycles week beginning Sunday, November 9 with two contests and concluding with a four hour event at the Drop-off Center on Saturday, November 15!
