Bomba at the Beach occurs every third Friday at Cedar Beach Park from 5:00-9:00pm
The City of Allentown Department of Parks and Recreation in collaboration with Puertorrican Culture Preservation Inc. unveils the “Bomba at the Beach” series with five events throughout the summer months.Each occurrence will feature various food, beverage, and resource vendors in addition to various forms of music and entertainment. New for 2024 are Merengue, Bachata and Salsa contests.

He has performed and toured with many notable performers in the world of Latin music, including his salsa band “Hector Rosado y Orchestra Hache” which he founded in 2001. Broadening his scope to the world of Latin Jazz, he created his “Hector Rosado Latin Jazz Ensemble Siete” group in 2008.Starting his life in the Steel City, Hector is one of five sons of Puerto Rican immigrants raised on the south side of Bethlehem. He was inspired by a neighborhood Motown Band when he first started playing congas. His mother encouraged him at age 10 by taking him by bus to purchase his first conga in the Bronx. By age 16, he sought his own apprenticeship in NYC seeking out the master Eddie Montalgo as his mentor. Soon after, Hector was opening-up shows for Ray Barretto, his hero. In total, Hector’s career spans nearly four decades.Currently, Hector spends his time playing music in the Lehigh Valley, Philadelphia, New Jersey and New York.
