Building Maintenance

Mission Statement:

The mission of the Building Maintenance Department is to manage, maintain, repair and remodel the facilities owned and operated by the City of Allentown. Building Maintenance is dedicated to providing an attractive, clean, accessible and safe environment for citizens and employees in all City of Allentown buildings. 

The staff of licensed tradesmen includes a Plumber, Electrician, Heating/Cooling Specialist and Carpenters. 

The Custodial staff provides janitorial services to City owned and operated buildings.

Recent accomplishments: 

  • Software upgrades for City Hall HVAC control system
  • Installation of new HVAC units at Bridgeworks and Streets
  • LED lighting upgrades
  • Security upgrades in collaboration with other departments
  • Repair of pumps for HVAC system

    Upcoming projects:

    • Police Academy renovations
    • Makeup tank replacement City Hall HVAC
    • Installation of new boilers at the Golf Course
    • Replacement of exterior side panels at City garage
