The contractor for the American Parkway construction contract in the City of Allentown will be setting a roadway detour on North Dauphin Street to facilitate construction work in the area.

Motorists travelling on North Dauphin Street should expect a detour to be in place beginning Tuesday, August 6, 2013. The closure will begin north of Long Drive and terminate prior to Bradford Street and the American Parkway. Both northbound and southbound traffic will be required to follow the posted detour.

The approved detour is as follows:

The northbound North Dauphin Street (SR 1007) detour will have traffic directed east on Union Blvd, north on Airport Road, west on the American Parkway back to North Dauphin Street.

The southbound North Dauphin Street (SR 1007) detour will have traffic directed east on the American Parkway, south on Airport Road, west on Union Blvd back to North Dauphin Street.

The detour as posted is expected to be in effect for two (2) months.

New Enterprise Stone and Lime, Inc. of New Enterprise, Pennsylvania is the general contractor for the $32 million construction project. The construction project is 100% federally funded.
