The City of Allentown Department of Parks and Recreation will host a “Caribbean Night” on Thursday, July 11 at Union Terrace Park. The event, which is part of the summer series “Noches de Ritmo” (Rhythm Nights) will begin at 6:00pm and feature free, family-friendly entertainment with a tropical theme.

This interactive, musical performance series is scheduled for the second Thursday of every month and runs from May – September throughout the city’s park system. Each event features a different theme, with entertainment from 6:00pm – 9:00pm.

“Caribbean Night” will include Reggaeton music by DJ Miguel Mixx, tropical-themed face painting by Funtastic Faces and delicious food provided by Puertorrican Culture Preservation. The Burning Hearts Fire & Light Theatre will also be doing strolling performances throughout the evening, with a special show beginning at 8:30pm!

HOLA Radio will host the event, with on-air personality Guillo el Loquillo emceeing throughout the evening.

The first night of the Noches de Ritmo series was held on Thursday, May 9 and entitled “Youth Night.” The evening included free kite-making and performances by various local youth groups. The second in the series was “Salsa Night” on Thursday, June 20 at West Park, and featured an interactive salsa lesson by Lehigh Valley Salsa.

Other events in the series include Latin International Night on Thursday, August 8 at Cedar Beach Park and Tango Night on Thursday, September 12 at West Park.
