"Noches de Ritmo” Salsa Night Rescheduled

The City of Allentown Department of Parks and Recreation has rescheduled the “Salsa Night,” originally scheduled for last night, for Thursday, June 20 at West Park. The event was postponed due to inclement weather.

“Salsa Night” is part of the summer series “Noches de Ritmo” (Rhythm Nights) which is held the second Thursday of each month from May to September throughout the city’s park system. This interactive musical performance series features a different theme each month, with entertainment from 6:00pm – 9:00pm.

“Salsa Night” will feature an interactive salsa lesson as well as performances by Lehigh Valley Salsa. Live, magical entertainment will be provided by “Fancy Nancy”, of All Purpose Entertainment Agency from 6:00 – 7:00pm.

HOLA Radio will host the event, with on-air personality Tony Rodriguez emceeing throughout the evening. HOLA Radio will also be on site with music and free prizes!

The first night of the Noches de Ritmo series was held on Thursday, May 9 and entitled “Youth Night.” The evening included free kite-making and performances by youth groups from Born in the Arts, Sharon Plessl School of Dance, Hispanic American League of Artists (HALA), XCAPE and Sacred Heart Parish Youth Group.

Other events in the series include Caribbean Night on Thursday, July 11 at Union Terrace Park; Latin International Night on Thursday, August 8 at Cedar Beach Park; and Tango Night on Thursday, September 12 at West Park.
