Community Planning

The Comprehensive Plan is the cornerstone of the Community Planning program, which includes a wide range of community, economic, and regional planning activities. The program’s activities are typically long term and geared to fulfilling the City’s Comprehensive Plan, Allentown Vision 2030(traducción al español), adopted in 2019. The Comprehensive Plan frames the Bureau’s program that includes:

• Area and neighborhood improvement and redevelopment planning
• Updating implementing tools such as the zoning code and map, and creating an annual capital program
• Proposal writing and grant management for furthering the Comprehensive Plan’s Goals and Objectives
• Problem solving and guidance on specific planning issues
• Providing census and other relevant data on City characteristics and trends
