Allentown School District 3rd Annual Elementary Instrumental Concert with a Jump Rope Twist

Allentown School District’s Third Annual Elementary Instrumental Concert and Jump Rope Tournament Event will be held on Wednesday, May 11  from 12:00 noon – 2:00 p.m. at the PPL Plaza in downtown Allentown.

The Elementary Instrumental group features a combination of band and orchestra students in grades 3, 4, and 5 from throughout the District’s elementary schools. In conjunction with their concert, the Health and Physical Education Specialists have prepared the top 3 jump rope students from each school to show off their talents and compete in the First Annual ASD Jump Rope Tournament.

“This is a great way to show off how exceptional the District’s elementary students are by featuring the musical talents and the physical attributes of these children all rolled into one enjoyable event,” explains District Arts Administrator Maryann Gross.

For months, ASD elementary students have been jumping rope in competitive fun as they work together with the American Heart Association’s annual Jump Rope for Heart program. Students will be showing off their jump rope skills of how many jumps they can do in a one minute time period. The list of “jump rope” winners are posted on the elementary school websites. A scooter will be awarded to the winner of the Jump Rope Tournament on May 11.
