It’s
happening again! On Saturday, February 25, from 1:00
p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Louis E. Dieruff High School’s Air Force Junior ROTC will
host The Harlem Wizards in a family-fun basketball event that pits the Wizards
against the “ASD Dream Team.”
This year’s “ASD
Dream Team” includes ASD staff and students from Dieruff High School,
Harrison-Morton and Trexler Middle Schools, and Central, Hiram Dodd, Jefferson, Lehigh
Parkway, Ramos, Ritter, and Roosevelt Elementary Schools. The
team is comprised of teachers from these schools, plus
one boy / girl basketball player from the Dieruff High School. Once again, the
Dream Team will be coached by Dieruff Principal Susan Bocian and Assistant
Principal Patrick McNulty.
The Wizards, who offer family-awesome
slam-dunking brand of entertainment basketball, have been providing interactive
fun events for kids of all ages for the past 54 years. The team is known for
its sky-high slams and amazing hoop talent – all performed while supporting
school and non-profit organizations’ fund raising efforts.
Tickets for this family fun event are: Advance General Admission Tickets – $6/students
and $7/adults; and General Admission at the Door – $9/students and $11/adults.
Anyone interested can purchase a “Courtside Plus” package for $20 which includes
MVP seating, a 15 minute Meet-and-Greet with the Wizards, and more.
The event, which will be held in the school’s gym, is open to the
public. All proceeds benefit Dieruff’s AFJROTC. Tickets are available online at
www.harlemwizards.com. For more information
