Destination Arts: Third Thursday takes place each month from 5 - 8 p.m. Downtown Allentown’s arts and business communities will join forces to create a unique and eclectic evening experience. Exhibitions, sales, classes, special menus and more will be featured at many of the local arts venues, artist studios, retailers and restaurants. Every month, new discoveries will await you, too. Enjoy Happy Hour or grab dinner at one of downtown's restaurants, then explore what Third Thursday has to offer.

The Michael Mester Group performs at in the Lyric Room at Miller Symphony Hall.

For its Third Thursday performance the group will focus on some of jazz's overlooked and underappreciated composers including Scott LaFaro, Dave Brubeck and Horace Silver. Works by more familiar names - including Duke Ellington and Antonio Carlos Jobim - will also be featured but in keeping with the spirit of the evening the musicians will focus on the forgotten gems from the canons of these two preeminent jazz icons.
