The City of Allentown will conduct four public meetings next month to inform property owners about the implementation of a fee to fund city stormwater services to be effective in 2018.

A presentation will be given to explain the reasons for the fee, calculation methodology, and ways to obtain credits to lower the fee charged to a property owner.

Residents are asked to please RSVP by calling Public Works at 610-437-7587 and indicating which meeting they would like to attend.

The establishment of this dedicated source of funding will support the City’s Stormwater Management Program to ensure compliance with the Pennsylvania Clean Streams Law and federal Clean Water Act.

The fund will allow the City to undertake repair and replacement of its aging infrastructure, address drainage and safety issues in its neighborhoods, improve water quality of impaired streams, and implement additional services.

The City had earlier reached out to the top 100 ratepayers offering to meet with them to inform them about the implementation of the fee.
