Work in the road for two Downtown Allentown construction projects will necessitate street closures next week.

Sixth Street from Hamilton Street to Linden Street will be closed on Monday, October 23 from 9am to 3pm due to unforeseen problems encountered while installing a manhole for the Strata Symphony Project. This part of the project will be completed on Monday.

Hamilton Street from Seventh Street to 6th Street will be closed to traffic from Wednesday, October 25 through Friday, October 27 from 9am to 3pm each day for water line installation for The Vault project.

Traffic restrictions will also be in effect next week on the Eighth Street Bridge. Lane closures are scheduled beginning Monday, October 23, possibly continuing through Thursday, October 26. Work hours will be 9am to 3pm. One lane of traffic will be maintained in both directions at all times. A PennDOT contractor will be making permanent repairs to a few small, localized areas on the bridge deck that were patched previously. The majority of the work will occur in the southbound lane.
