80 New Jobs Coming to City

Royal Industries International, Inc. of Brooklyn is relocating to Allentown creating 80 new jobs. The announcement was made this morning by Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf. 

Royal Industries is purchasing an 85,000-square-foot facility at 1131 Plymouth Street in the city.  The manufacturer of promotional products expects to be operational in the city early next year.

“The city’s Department of Community & Economic Development worked cooperatively and feverishly with Royal and our local and state economic development partners over the last six months to bring the company to Allentown," said Mayor Ed Pawlowski. "I am very pleased that this expanding company has chosen Allentown, creating 80 new manufacturing jobs in the city.”

Royal Industries co-owner Mike Rudensky said, "I feel like the city of Allentown really wanted us."

The project was coordinated by the Governor's Action Team in collaboration with Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation.

The state's funding package includes a more than $1.8 million Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority low-interest loan, $63,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits and a $27,000 WEDnet grant.

Royal Industries has pledged to invest more than $3.7 million into the project, including the building acquisition, renovations and equipment and furniture purchases.
