Latin International Night Postponed
Due to the inclement weather forecast, the City of Allentown Department of Parks and Recreation is postponing tonight’s “Latin International Night” until next Thursday, August 15 at Cedar Beach Park. The event, which is part of the summer series “Noches de Ritmo” (Rhythm Nights) will begin at 6pm and feature free, family-friendly entertainment with representation from many different Latino backgrounds.

“Latin International Night” will include a live performance by a variety of popular local groups whose rhythms range from merengue to salsa to bolero. Performing groups include En Secuencia, Yexiel, Lil J, Magic Williams, Mike 1, DJ Benny Blanco, and Urbano Eteves. These groups are being coordinated thanks to Gata Fierra Promotions.

A variety of food vendors will be on site, including the Puertorrican Cultural Preservation Organization and El Paisano Mexico. Children are encouraged to arrive early to decorate flags or have their face painted by Funtastic Faces.

HOLA Radio will host the event, with on-air personality Alfa Lopez emceeing throughout the evening.

The final event in the Noches de Ritmo series will be “Tango Night” on Thursday, September 12 at West Park, which will feature an interactive tango lesson and dance performances.

Please call the Inclement Weather Hotline at 610-437-7750 after 4:30pm for postponement information.
