The 2015 Allentown Halloween Parade marched down Hamilton Street yesterday before an estimated crowd of 8,500 spectators!

The parade was full of superhero-themed costumes for humans and animals, with several floats adhering to the ‘Superhero Spectacular’ theme.

A panel of judges evaluated participants in two categories: Floats and Marchers. Parade judges were City Council members Cynthia Mota, Daryl Hendricks and Julio Guridy; and Board of Recreation members Hamp Smith, Hugh Gallagher and Joni Nyemscek. Judging criteria included presentation, creativity, enthusiasm, and adhering to the theme.

Winners in the Floats category are:

Tied for 1st Place Cub Scout Pack 146
Tied for 1st Place Cub Scout Pack 74
3rd Place The Neighborhood Center

Winners in the Marchers category are:

1st Place Girl Scout Troop 6231
Tied for 2nd Place LCYA Bulldogs
Tied for 2nd Place Lehigh County Humane Society

Winners receive monetary prizes.

Honorable mention to Lehigh Valley Rollergirls and Boston Terrier Group of the Lehigh Valley in the Marchers category, and Person Directed Supports and Dutch Springs in the Floats category.

Dance and performance groups HALA, XCAPE, Parkettes and Small Steps, Big Dreams and marching bands receive a stipend for participating.
