Ground Broken for Butz III

Ground was broken this afternoon for Phase III of the Butz Corporate Center at Ninth and Hamilton streets in Allentown. Phase III will include 60,000 square feet of class-A office space on seven floors and one level of parking with 43 parking spaces. It will bring 175 jobs into the city.

This is the second expansion at the site since Alvin H. Butz moved its headquarters from South Whitehall to Allentown in 2006.

Mayor Ed Pawlowski said, “Nine years ago I stood here and said we have begun a new era in Allentown, an era that will be marked by positive progress, by the revival of our downtown business district, and by the renewal of the pride in our city triggered by people like the Butz family and their desire to help us turn things around. Here we are again to celebrate more progress.”

“Our firm and the Butz family are overwhelmed with the progress and revitalization taking place in downtown Allentown thanks to the Neighborhood Improvement Zone and investment from other private developers like City Center and The Waterfront,” says Greg L. Butz, president and CEO of Alvin H. Butz, Inc. “We never dreamed there would be this much progress in Allentown when we moved our headquarters here; it has been an amazing adventure and we’re so proud to play a part in its continued growth.”

Designed by Roberson Butz Architects, the building features a black façade juxtaposed against the steely glass backdrop of the Butz Corporate Center Phase I and II building. Alvin H. Butz, Inc. will be the construction manager on the project, which is expected to be completed in Spring 2016.

United Fiber and Data’s Regional Sales Headquarters will move its offices from the current Butz Corporate Center to Phase III, occupying one floor. The remaining 52,000 square feet of office space is available for lease.
