Tilghman Street Resurfacing Project

PennDOT is embarking on a more than four month resurfacing project of Tilghman Street in the City of Allentown and South Whitehall Township.

The improvement project stretches from Route 309 in the township to 210th Street in the city and includes milling, paving and new curb ramps.

Daytime lane closures with flagging or lane shifts will occur from 7am until 5pm at various locations.  Work will shift to nighttime and overnight hours (8:30pm to 6:30am) after the 4th of July for milling and paving work.  Motorists should expect lane restrictions with flagging or lane shifts.

The impacted section of Tilghman Street handles as many as 19,000 vehicles a day.

The $2.8 million project is paid for from state funds from Act 89.

New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co., of Dry Run, Pa is the general contractor.
