Trash & Recycling Update 2/4/21

Waste Management crews working in the city of Allentown will attempt trash collection on the regular Thursday night route tonight, February 4.  That covers areas they can safely access west of 11th Street.

Residents are asked to hold bulk trash until next week.

The Tuesday, February 2 collections on South Side and part of the East Side were cancelled. The next trash collection for this area will be Friday night, February 5.  Ten bags of trash will be allowed.

For residents who normally recycle on a Tuesday night, recycling collection will resume on Tuesday night, February 9.

The Wednesday night, February 3 Center City and part of the East Side collections were cancelled. Trash and recycling collections will resume in this area on Sunday night, February 7.  Ten bags of trash will be allowed.

The city reminds residents that they should not shovel snow into the street as this causes more delays in getting your street cleared and getting your trash and recycling collected.

The Allentown Recycling Drop-Off Center on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive next to the 15th Street Bridge remains closed.

The city’s Yard Waste site will not be open as scheduled this Saturday, February 6 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
