Waggathon Saturday at Allentown Dog Park
Allentown’s Dixon Street Dog Park is the site of this Saturday’s 1st Allentown Waggathon.

Dogs of all breeds and sizes are invited to the event scheduled from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. It is co-sponsored by the city Department of Parks & Recreation, Friends of the Allentown Parks and the Lehigh County Humane Society.

Allentown Waggathon is a compilation of the popular WoofStock and Doggie Dip programs, and new activities with the Lehigh County Humane Society.

The event features specialty pet vendors, training classes, educational exhibits, food and entertainment.
Please be conscious of weather conditions for pet safety. In addition, participants must adhere to the following rules and regulations:
– Pets must be leashed (if retractable, must be able to lock on short setting) or otherwise be properly restrained
– Pets must be up to date on vaccinations, people friendly and non-aggressive
– Please do not bring animals that are in heat or under four months old
– Water bowls will be provided for pets
– Owners/handlers are responsible for their pet’s behavior as well as for cleaning up after them.

The Lehigh County Humane Society will have education and craft activities available during the event as well, adding to the overall festivities.

All dogs are also invited to take a dip in nearby Mack Pool from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Cost per dog is $4.00 for City of Allentown residents and $8.00 for Non-Residents. Proof of Residency is required to receive the Resident Rate.

All dogs must have a valid 2019 license and be up to date on all vaccinations. One handler in the pool per dog is recommended and any aggressive animals will be asked to exit the event. Monetary donations can be made to Friends of the Allentown Parks. Dry pet food donations on behalf of the Lehigh County Humane Society will be accepted and appreciated.
