City Celebrates America's Independence
The City of Allentown’s Fireworks Celebration will take place at J. Birney Crum Stadium and Cedar Beach Park on Thursday, July 4 from 5:00pm-9:40pm. The event features live music, family friendly entertainment, delicious food options and a rousing, musical fireworks show.

The celebration is free and open to the public.

All the fun begins in Cedar Beach Park at 5:00pm. The J. Birney Crum Stadium gates open at 5:30pm. Stadium entertainment includes dance performances by XCAPE Hip Hop Dance Group and Sharon Plessl School of Dance; and band performances by Scott Marshall’s Highway, James Supra Blues Band, Billy Bauer Band, The Nomadic Soulz, John Caanavos Band, and Connie Edinger’s Calvacade Band. The Allentown Summer Playground Program children will perform the traditional Flag Drill as part of the celebration.

There will be activities for kids to participate in and win prizes from 6:00pm – 8:00pm inside the stadium as well as in Cedar Beach Park.

The Allentown Police Department will be hosting “APD Youth Olympics” activities on the stadium field, where children will have an opportunity to try out different physical challenges alongside police officers.
 
The West End Fire Station will be hosting an open house from 6:00pm – 8:00pm where children and their families can stop by to meet some of Allentown’s firefighters, check out the fire engine, and meet retired arson dog, Judge.

In Cedar Beach Park, there will be Hands Only CPR training by Allentown EMS department; Police K9 demonstrations; and a spray down by one of Allentown’s fire engines.

Funtastic Faces will be on site in Cedar Beach Park offering face painting and hair accessories for purchase. There will also be patriotic items for children for sale.

The addition this year of a second stage of entertainment in Cedar Beach Park will be accompanied by craft beer sales by Hijinx Brewery and Fegley’s Allentown Brew Works, as well as specialty food vendors including Queen City BBQ, Tacos Y Tequila, Allentown Snow Cones, The Udder Bar, and Wao Burger Truck.

The night will be capped by a brilliant fireworks show that is sure to dazzle the audience. The fireworks show will be accompanied by music broadcast throughout J. Birney Crum Stadium.

Bixler Pyrotechnics of Ashland is producing this year’s fireworks show. The 2019 show promises to be bigger and better than ever!

There will be collection bins at entrances to the stadium with proceeds going to PAL.
