Kloiber Confirmed as City Solicitor

City Council has unanimously confirmed Matthew Kloiber for the position of City Solicitor.

Kloiber is a lifelong resident of the city and is no stranger to government law work..

Kloiber served as Assistant City Solicitor in Bethlehem and First Assistant County Solicitor in Berks County before coming to the city of Allentown as Assistant Solicitor in December 2017.

Kloiber has been admitted to the United States and Pennsylvania Supreme Court Bars, and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Lehigh County Bar Association.

Kloiber has also served as a law clerk in Lehigh County Court, Commonwealth Court and U.S District Court.

He earned his J.D. from Dickinson School of Law of Pennsylvania State University and was awarded a Master of Laws from Temple University Beasley School of Law.

Mayor Ray O'Connell, who nominated Kloiber for the post, said "I am confident that Matt will be a tremendous leader of the office and will work well with City Council and the Administration as we move Allentown forward."

Council also voted last night to change the formerly part-time city solicitor position to full-time.

Kloiber will earn $105,000 annually.
