Mayor Ray O'Connell and members of city council honored Allentown Health Bureau Director Vicky Kistler with a key to the city on Friday for her work throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kistler directed the city's response to keeping the public informed of necessary public health measures at the onset of the pandemic and most recently by coordinating the bureau's vaccination efforts first at East Side Youth Center and currently at the Agri-Plex on the Allentown Fairgrounds.

More than 25,000 persons have been vaccinated by the AHB program.

The ceremony was held at the Agri-Plex and was attended by dozens of city employees.

Kistler was also presented with a poster board card signed by city employees thanking her for her amazing adaptive leadership during the pandemic.
