Lights in the Parkway Opens November 27

The City of Allentown is partnering with Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital to present the 24th season of Lights in the Parkway.  It opens Friday, November 27 at 5:30 p.m. in Lehigh Parkway.

Drive through this spectacular holiday light show in the comfort and safety of your own car. Traditional favorites and larger than life spectaculars set to music transform more than a mile of one of Allentown’s most beautiful parks, Lehigh Parkway, into a winter wonderland.  Visitors will experience tunnels, favorite holiday scenes and more. “Lights” is fun for all ages and is an annual tradition for many throughout the Lehigh Valley and beyond.

The Lights in the Parkway program is proudly offered by the City of Allentown in partnership with Presenting Sponsor Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital. Tinsel, Star, Mistletoe, and Jingle Bell Sponsors include 100.7 WLEV and Cat Country 96, iHeart Media and B104, La Mega Radio, Allentown Federal Credit Union, Latina Radio, RCN, Waste Management, Service Electric, Alvin H Butz Inc, Bigfoot Poconos and 93.5 SBG.

Lights in the Parkway can be viewed from Friday, November 27 through Sunday, December 27, 5:30 p.m.-10:00 p.m. Lights in the Parkway is closed Christmas Day.

Tickets must be purchased in advance either online at www.lightsintheparkway.com or in person at all Allentown Federal Credit Union locations.

Admission is $15 per car and $25 per commercial van, minibus or limo.

To adhere to CDC guidelines during this time no cash or credit sales will be accepted on site.

The City of Allentown’s Parks Department is the creative and visual talent behind Lights in the Parkway. Parks’ Superintendent Rick Holtzman, Chief Maintenance Supervisor Christian Bianco, and Parks’ supervisors, Michelle McGinniss, Tyler Fatzinger, and the Parks Department staff have provided the lighting expertise needed to produce just the right illumination, shadow and silhouetting effects for this imaginative wonderland.

New displays for the 2020 season will light-up the night. Many of the beautiful trees in the Lehigh Parkway are wrapped in lights and shining brightly! A holiday family tradition awaits.

Lights in the Parkway continues to show commitment to use energy-efficient LED lights in all new displays and to convert more existing displays each year to LED bulbs. LED lights use 85% less energy than traditional bulbs and last about four times longer.
