As a result of Pennsylvania Governor Wolf's directive regarding the COVID-19 virus, the scheduled traffic detour for the West Gordon Street Bridge Replacement project has been postponed and will not be implemented on Monday, March 23. A new date has not been established or forecast at this point. When the city is advised that the bridge will be closed for construction, we will advise the public of the new closure date for the bridge.
The Gordon Street Bridge will remain open to traffic in the interim.
The bridge on West Gordon Street and over Jordan Creek in the City of Allentown is expected to be closed for eight months for reconstruction.
Detours will be set in place while the $3.3 million project is underway.
Kinsley Construction, Inc. from York, PA was the successful low bidder on the project.
