Allentown’s Second Street Bridge over Trout Creek is open to traffic.
The new bridge replaces a structurally deficient and damaged 8.5 feet wide by 18 feet long span that was closed in July 2017 following a motor vehicle accident. The new bridge now has an 11 feet wide roadway with a separate pedestrian walkway.
A single lane roadway was selected after a majority survey of the surrounding community selected it as the preferred width.
The bridge spans Trout Creek and is on Second Street between Brookdale Street and Wabash Street.
The new bridge construction was performed by DESSCO Design and Construction, Inc. from Fleetwood, PA in the contract amount of $327,030.00.
