A number of streets in downtown Allentown will be closed for several hours on Saturday, November 9, most beginning at 8:30 a.m. to accommodate The Great Pumpkin Run.

S. 10th Street from Wyoming St. to MLK (closed beginning at 5:00 a.m.)
MLK Blvd from 3rd Street to 15th Street
15th Street from MLK to Hamilton Street
Hamilton Street from 15th Street to Seventh Street
Walnut Street from Seventh Street to 4th Street

The race begins at 10:00 a.m. Streets are expected to re-open by 1:00 p.m.

Some 3,000 participants have registered to run or walk a 3.1-mile course, some toting pumpkins.

A portion of the proceeds benefits Allentown Veterans Appreciation Month activities.
