K9 Harley Memorial Service Scheduled
A memorial service for Allentown Police Department K9 Harley will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2019.

The public is invited to attend a walk-through honoring K9 Harley from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at J.S. Burkholder’s Funeral Home at 1601 W. Hamilton Street.

A private memorial service will begin at 7:00 p.m.

K9 Harley was a six-year veteran of the force. He died on Saturday, September 21 following a brief and courageous battle with cancer.

Officer Andrew Fegely was K9 Harley’s handler and partner throughout his career.

K9 Harley received numerous awards and recognition throughout his career and was part of numerous criminal apprehensions and drug seizures in the city and nearby jurisdictions.

Officer Fegely and K9 Harley conducted hundreds of demonstrations and interactions with schools and community groups throughout their career together.

Donations will be accepted to the “Allentown Police K9 Fund” and will be used for the completion of a memorial designed to honor all K9 units that have passed.

Attendees are permitted to utilize the parking lot of the Scottish Rite Cathedral at 1533 W. Hamilton Street. Attendees are advised to access this lot via Fulton Street as N. 16th Street. will be closed between Hamilton Street and Linden Street from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
