The administration of Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf announced today work is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 19, on a project to resurface Cedar Crest Boulevard in the City of Allentown and Salisbury and South Whitehall townships.

“PennDOT is committed to ensuring a smoother ride for motorists and improving accessibility for persons with disabilities, and this project will accomplish both along this busy corridor,” said Governor Wolf.

Cedar Crest Boulevard will be resurfaced between Interstate 78 and Walbert Avenue. Work includes roadway milling and paving, constructing new Americans with Disability Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps (where applicable) and new pavement markings.

Starting August 19 motorists should expect nighttime lane restrictions on Cedar Crest Boulevard and allow for extra time traveling through the area. Updates will be provided whenever traffic pattern schedules change.

H&K Group, Inc. of Skippack, PA is the general contractor on the more than $2.5 million project, which is expected to be complete in November. More than 20,000 vehicles can travel this section of Cedar Crest Boulevard daily.
