Lights in the Parkway is an Allentown holiday tradition - the 2012-2013 season marks its 17th year. This spectacular light display covers more than a mile and a half of one of Allentown's most beautiful parks, the Lehigh Parkway. The attraction features lighted trees, tunnels and animated displays creating a winter wonderland. In addition to reindeer, elves and many holiday themed scenes, visitors are treated to animals, Cinderella, the Wizard of Oz and other unique sights. The accompanying music adds to the experience.
This event has become an annual tradition for many families - attracting and delighting all ages. There are several ways to journey through Lights – by car, horse and carriage, bicycle or even by foot during the 5K Run and Walk. We recommend stopping in the Lights in the Parkway Gift Barn after exiting the display for refreshments, a visit with Santa, a souvenir or homemade treasures. On select evenings, ice carving demonstrations will fascinate Gift Barn visitors.
Every time you visit Lights in the Parkway you earn the chance to win four round-trip airline tickets to Florida courtesy of Lehigh Valley International Airport.
Lights in the Parkway proceeds support the community groups who volunteer to help with its operation. Little league teams, scout troops, dance teams and more all benefit from funding received through Lights in the Parkway.
