It is 1837 and 17-year old Victoria is at the center of an English royal power struggle. She is in line for the throne, but is being kept from the court by her overbearing mother. Victoria’s handsome cousin Albert comes to visit, and it becomes quickly obvious that he’s been coached to win her hand.
