Identification & Crime Scene Unit

The Crime Scene Unit is responsible for identifying, collecting, documenting, and processing evidence at or from crime scenes. The highly trained members of this unit work closely with other investigators, and face the daily challenges associated with responding to a variety of crime scenes, both indoor and outdoor throughout all seasons and conditions.

Members of this unit must maintain certifications and a working knowledge of all practical skills associated with fingerprint and DNA collection, blood spatter analysis, photography, mapping, video surveillance recovery, and the science related to each. They are also highly skilled in the operation of sophisticated equipment related to evidence collection and processing.
