The Allentown Yard Waste Site at 1401 Oxford Dr. (Oxford Drive and Fish Hatchery Road) will open to city residents for the 2016 season on Saturday, April 2. City of Allentown residents are required to show identification.

The hours are as follows:

Mondays 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Wednesdays 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Fridays 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Saturdays 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Additionally, due to the anticipated spring weather the yard waste site will be open on these additional days:

Wednesday, March 23 -12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Wednesday, March 30 -12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Curbside yard waste collection will begin the week of April 3. Place yard waste out on your recycling night. Paper lawn and leaf bags are no longer required. Residents are encouraged to place all yard waste in a container (separate can from your trash). The paper lawn bags have caused contamination issues. Please do not mix in any trash or any other debris with the yard waste. Yellow yard waste stickers are available for your cans.

The city will offer mulch loading services every Wednesday during the season from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Loading services will be available for a pre-paid fee of $12 per bucket load. There is no cost for self-loading material. Payment must be made at the Recycling & Solid Waste Office, 1400 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. prior to loading.
