Made in East Stroudsburg since 1984, this handmade jewelry is designed by Jill Elizabeth. The distinctive look is achieved with the use of a lightweight mirrored base wired with beads and other details that combine to depict funky, artsy versions of mythological, whimsical and holiday subjects.

Pip: The Mouse Before Christmas

The ten-minute show takes place on the night before Christmas. Santa is stuck in the chimney! Will he get out in time to deliver all of his toys? Starring Allentown's favorite mouse, Pip, 'The Mouse Before Christmas' has been a holiday tradition in Allentown since 1962, when Max Hess Jr. purchased the stage and show for his world-famous department store in Allentown. This holiday puppet show, created by Dr. George R. Creegan, is celebrating its 47th Anniversary in Allentown.

One of the features of this year’s show will be the presentation of outstanding paintings by local artists who depict landscape scenes of the Lehigh Valley. Other fine arts will be presented that demonstrate professional skills in sculpture, textiles, pottery, woodwork and jewelry. Hundreds of handcrafted items can be purchased at the gallery to make original, unique gifts this holiday season.

This incredible display will celebrate its 14th Anniversary this holiday season every night from December 11, 2009 through January 3, 2010 (closed Christmas Day) opening at 5:30 PM and closing at 10 PM. 2010 Family New Year's Party

Guests at the Da Vinci Science Center’s 2010 Family New Year’s Eve Science Party – presented by Lehigh Valley Mall – will help the Center create the region’s biggest new year’s blast. The celebration will culminate with an outdoor Mystery Blast created by party guests shortly before 10 p.m. Party entertainment will be provided by the much-anticipated return of “Balloon Freak” John Cassidy – a comedian and magician who holds several Guinness World Records and has delighted crowds around the world. John Cassidy’s performances will be presented by Wal-Mart. Party guests will enjoy a dinner buffet, an Ice Cream World dessert station, noisemakers, and hands-on science fun for all ages. Each guest also will receive a Swag Bag of gifts from party sponsors. Tickets can be purchased at the Da Vinci Science Center during business hours or by calling 484.664.1002, Ext. 129. ART MART: Holiday Gifts

ART MART urges the public to shop locally for “Holiday Gifts.”Allentown’s newest gallery and art emporium will open Black Friday, Nov. 27 at 6pm. Art Mart, located at 813 W. Hamilton St., presents its inaugural show “Holiday Gifts,” curated by Gregory Coates. The show features original artwork - from photography and paintings to sculpture and glass - and handmade goods, such as jewelry and handbags. All the items created by the artists make thoughtful, creative gifts. The shop will make a special effort to remain open during the city’s Tree Lighting Ceremony at Ninth and Hamilton from 4-7 p.m. December 3. The public is invited to step inside for some hot cocoa and peruse the goods offered by the area’s talented professional artists. The shop will maintain lunchtime hours several days a week, as well as evening hours on weekends. Art Mart was founded by Diane Teti. This project is a collaboration between a downtown property owner and a committee of artists and arts enthusiasts striving to enhance the arts in downtown Allentown. Winter Toyland – Da Vinci Science Center

The Da Vinci Science Center offers its popular Math Midway exhibit during the winter holiday season along with a Winter Toyland, sponsored by Toy Magic, for minds both young and young at heart. Visitors will experiment with different types of tops to see which spins the longest, take toys apart to see how they work, race wind-up toys, and create the ever-popular instant snow.
