Dave Roper Trio

Dave Roper has been playing the piano as part of a trio in various Lehigh Valley locations for nearly sixty years, including a fifteen year stint at the popular King George Inn in Allentown. For another long stretch he taught English at Emmaus High School where he coached the Scholastic Scrimmage Team.

He hopes to keep his trio stable; since 1959 he has played with only three drummers and four bassists.The current trio consists of Dave, Gary Rissmiller (drums), and Paul Rostock (bass). Gary and Paul have long histories of performing with many different musical groups. They are both on the music faculty at Moravian College. The trio has played many times in the Rodale Room and once were featured onstage in the hall.

This evening he will also be joined by vocalist Tommy Crist.

His fans love his sparkling touch and his wry wit.

“You get a gig with me,” Dave says with a sly smile, “it’s pretty long term.”
