A Bird of Fire 10/10/2015 7-9pm. Free all ages. Visual artist and architect Ibiyinka Alao has been called "A Bird of Fire" because of the majestic flights he takes us on through his paintings and the Golden Eagle, a national symbol of his home country Nigeria. He explores his faith and West African heritage through bright, contemporary art. As "Ambassador of Art" and advisor to the United Nations, Also has first hand unrivaled experience in both artistic expression and diplomacy: on Thursday October 10th, he will be speaking about the convergence of these two. Join us at the Alternative Gallery from 7:00pm foro an exhibition of some of Alao's personal works (which will be featured for one night only), music and food. During this intimate talk, Ibiyinka will present a unique perspective of "art as frozen music", exploring the intersection of visual art, poetry, music and theater in an alternative universe.
