ZONING HEARING BOARD

PUBLIC HEARING

 

 

                        NOTICE is hereby given that the Zoning Hearing Board will meet in Council Chambers, Room #118, City Hall, 435 Hamilton Street, Allentown, PA on Monday, July 13, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. for the purpose of hearing the following appeals.

 

ALL APPELLANTS  MUST APPEAR AT MEETING

 

 

                        1.  A- 66990   337 Elm Court   Appeal of John & Rose Scrizzi for variance to construct ADDITION (14 ft. x 16 ft. enclosed & 14 ft. x 16 ft. open porch with roof) at rear, having insuff. rear yard setback (30 ft. req.; 31.83 ft. rear yard average existing; 19.5 ft. rear yard average proposed), located in a Medium Low Density Residential (R-ML) District.

 

 

                        2.  A-67029  243-247 N. 8th Street  Special Use Application of Ramon Evangelista for Sante Gonzalez to CONVERT PORTION OF RETAIL GROCERY STORE INTO TAKE-OUT RESTAURANT, with restaurant being a use permitted by Special Exception under Article 1314.02.C.4., with frying of foods not permitted, located in a Medium High Density Residential (R-MH) & Traditional Neighborhood Development Overlay (TNDO) District. 

 

 

                        3.  A-67128  457 Allen Street  Special Use Application of Lehigh Conference of Churches to convert place of worship into COMMUNITY CENTER & ADMINISTRATIVE/COUNSELING OFFICES, & REUSE EXISTING FREESTANDING SIGN (4 ft. x 6 ft.) interior illum. @ front, being a use & sign permitted by Special Exception under Articles 1313.01.E., 1314.02.C.4., & 1319.05.C., & sign exceeding maximum allowable size (20 sq. ft. permitted, 24 sq. ft. existing), located in a Medium High Density Residential (R-MH) & Traditional Neighborhood Development Overlay (TNDO) District. Applicant seeks a Special Exception to permit the operation of a community center at the premises and the specific uses described.  In the alternative, LCC requests a variance and/or any other zoning relief necessary to permit the proposed non-profit charitable community center use at the premises.

 

 

All persons interested or those desiring to protest against the allowance of the above appeals may appear and be heard.  The appeals listed above may be reviewed at the Zoning Office, 4th Floor, City Hall, 435 Hamilton Street, Allentown, Pennsylvania.
