Mission Statement
The Department of Public Works is one of seven City departments. The Department consists of the following bureaus:
- Engineering
- Building Maintenance
- Water Resources
- Recycling & Solid Waste
- Streets
- Traffic Planning/Control
- Municipal Garage
The goals of the department are to provide safe drinking water for the public, manage refuse removal and recycling, provide roadways for the efficient and safe movement of individuals and cargo throughout the community, and to provide care and maintenace of the City-owned structures as well as to maintain the beautiful parks. The mission is to protect the overall environmental quality of the city.
Electronic Recycling
FREE Electronic Recycling will be offered the following Saturdays at the Allentown Yard Waste Site located at Fish Hatchery Road and Oxford Drive: May 4 and May 18 from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm.
The items that will be accepted: computers, keyboards, monitors, electronics, printers, scanners, laptops and televisions for recycling. Users bringing electronics will have the convenience of drive-through service. This service is for City of Allentown residents ONLY.
ELECTRONICS MAY NO LONGER BE PLACED AT THE CURB FOR COLLECTION.

To Report a pothole please call the pothole hotline or submit an email complaint. Please provide your name, phone number, and location of the pothole. Any questions call the Street department at 610-437-7638.

*The City will offer mulch loading services from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm on Wednesdays. Loading services will be available for a pre-paid fee of $12 per bucket load.
There is no cost for self loading material. |
