Step 1: Contact the City of Allentown Recreation Bureau at least two (2) months in advance to make sure your requested field, court or park is available for your desired date.
Step 2: Request, complete and submit an application to the Recreation Bureau. ($1 million of public liability insurance may be required, for field, special event and band trailer permits).
Step 3: You will then either be approved and invoiced, or denied for the use of your requested field, court or park.
Metal Detector Permit You must obtain a Metal Detector Permit from the Parks Bureau in order to pursue the hobby in City parks.
Shade Tree Permits A permit is required before pruning, planting, removing, chemical spraying, fertilizing,construction excavation, and temporary lighting. Call the Parks Bureau to obtain your Shade Tree Permit 610-437-7628.
Hamilton Street Permits If any activities are in the right-of-way of the Hamilton Street, you must obtain a Hamilton Street Permit from the Engineering Department 610-437-7576.
Block Parties To have a block party, contact the Allentown Police Department at 610-437-7710. Block party applications may be picked up in the City Hall lobby or at any City Fire Station.
