Educational Internship Initiative

The City of Allentown’s City Controller’s Office is proud to offer an educational internship experience to qualified college students. 

The internship is a 12 week educational project providing a great opportunity to work closely with the City Controller, Internal Audit Manager, City Council, City Department Heads and their support staff.  The initiative provides valuable experience in accounting, auditing and public speaking.

                    The educational internship consists of 6 steps which include: 

The creation of a Process Flow Narrative and Flowchart of the project assigned, identifying the potential weaknesses in the project’s process, using the potential weaknesses identified and developing an outline for testing, testing and sampling, identifying the weaknesses and proposing a resolution, reporting the results of the testing both in writing and orally to both Administration and City Council.
